# Follow the Leader

*Follow the Leader is a planned feature. This page describes its intended mechanics, not current availability.*\
\
Follow the Leader is designed to let Meta Signals users automatically copy the alert selections and adjustments of eligible Lead Traders. The Leaderboard ranks users by their overall trading performance. Users appear by default, with the option to opt out.

### How it works <a href="#how-it-works" id="how-it-works"></a>

* High-performing users rise on the Leaderboard based on their results.
* To become a Lead Trader and allow others to copy their activity, a user must stake MSIG.
* Staking makes a Lead Trader eligible for MSIG rewards based on ongoing performance and the total PnL of their copiers.
* If performance weakens for a prolonged period, a portion of the Lead Trader’s staked MSIG may be reduced.
* Other users can choose to copy eligible Lead Traders’ alert selections and adjustments.

### Skin in the game <a href="#skin-in-the-game" id="skin-in-the-game"></a>

Lead Traders commit MSIG before becoming eligible for rewards from being copied. Their stake creates an incentive to maintain performance and make responsible trading decisions.

The model is designed to align incentives: followers gain access to experienced users’ alert decisions, while Lead Traders receive performance-based rewards and risk losing part of their stake if results deteriorate.

Copying a Lead Trader does not guarantee profitable results.<br>
